This lesson was designed as an activity demonstration of technology-enabled learning in the health classroom. Intended to be completed within a 15 minute time frame, we have employed tools such as Kahoot!, Padlet, Nearpod, and the Google suite to create an inclusive learning environment that would be particularly useful in covering the topic of Human Development & Sexual Health, where segregated learning is often the norm. As time constraints were short, the lesson should be treated as a demonstration of how technology can be leveraged for learning, rather than comprehensive coverage of the topics.
The lesson begins with a diagnostic review using Kahoot! Students then co-create a code of conduct to be followed using Padlet, before commencing with the Nearpod presentation. Students sign their name to the code of conduct via Nearpod, then proceed with the core learning either individually or as a guided lesson. A Google Form is available at all times for students to use as an anonymous question box, and submissions to this Form are logged to a Google Sheet that can be reviewed as a class as well as archived for future planning.
