This activity was a lot of fun! The focus on pathways meant that we could get very animated and active, without the social pressures that sometimes accompany the more "expressive" activities. Having a waveform that contained aspects of sine, square, and sawtooth waves, we had to use a variety of energies and levels to articulate this to the class. If I was to use this in a classroom, I might do a full group activity starting with just the shapes of common waves (e.g. sine, square, triangle, sawtooth) and have the entire class line up to show how such a wave would oscillate. While this would not be focused on pathways, it would be a very fun minds on that could address energy and levels before leading into a discussion of pathways. Such an activity might also be appropriate in a classroom where space limits safe exploration of pathways.
