Texture Rubbings

For the texture rubbing task we were to begin by creating a line design on a piece of paper. I used my ID card and traced around it with a white pencil to create a very faint outline of each section that I would use for my rubbings. When working with colour I often tend towards gentler, or more pastel hues, and thought the absence of dark outlines on my form would lend itself well to this. I found various textures around the room and used a limited selection of soft colours for the rubbings. I found however that my gentle approach did not lend itself well to such an aggressive task and I ended up with very little definition in the rubbed textures.
