As a child, my family seemed to have the perfect little suburban life: two incomes, a two-storey cookie-cutter house with a two car garage, two cars, a dog... Revolutionary Road is the story of a suburban couple struggling through the motions of starting a life together. While their middle-class lifestyle may seem idyllic, tensions exist below the surface. Children can pick up on these cues and have been found to perform more poorly in school as a result of emotional, mental health, and safety issues, poor nutrition, and low family income. Socioeconomic factors may not always be visible, but they play a substantial role in a child's education.
